Help us revive the Rebel Community
Dear Reader,
Last year, the Rebel site introduced an exciting new feature called Rebel Community, providing fellow dissidents with Facebook-like social networking, including events, groups, photo galleries, video hosting and embedding, just without the thought police ensuring that you stay within the mind-control boundaries of political correctness, without annoying limits to video length, friend numbers or posts per hour and - even more important in this day and age - without "Big Brother" watching.
Unfortunately, only six months after its launch, we were forced to discontinue the Rebel Community feature, because we could not afford the renewal fee for the software license. This is particularly regrettable since Facebook is becoming increasingly aggressive about deleting not only individual posts but entire accounts that supposedly do not comply with its 'community standards', which have the tendency to kick in if the posts offend one of the countless sensitivities of our beloved tribe. To make matters worse, Facebook has started to force users to pay a promotion fee of US$7.10 minimum per posting if they want to make sure that their posts make it into the news feeds of more than 5% of their friends and friends of friends.
